puerhan

The owls were silent this morning.

Barry

Hi Puerhan,
Maybe the owls weren't even there this morning! But . . . how tall is that darn bodhisattva?

Thank you for your comment!

Barry

Genju

would you like some marmalade with your toast, barry? made it myself! :-)

Barry Briggs

Thanks for the offer (the marmalade must taste fabulous!), Genju, but I'm not hungry right now! Maybe you could offer it to the Bodhisattva of Compassion, once you determine her height!

Genju

gosh, you're persistent! :-) here. she's this high

Uku

Lovely picture, Barry!

Barry

Hi Uku - Yes, I like that picture quite a lot, especially the crossed lines in the palm that indicate the eye.

Luke

Ted Biringer

Hello Barry,

While I agree with you, I would point out that it depends on whether he is standing, sitting, or lying down.

I will admit that he prefers lying down.

Peace,
Ted

Barry

Go Drink Tea

  • A monk once asked Chinese Zen Master Zhaozhou, "What is Buddha?" Zhaozhou answered, "Go drink tea!" The monk then asked, "What is Dharma?" Zhaozhou answered, "Go drink tea!" The monk persisted, "What is Sangha?" Zhaozhou again said, "Go drink tea!"
  • Koans (Chinese: kung-ans; Korean: kong-ans) help us awaken to the world right in front of us. This weblog provides an ongoing journal of koans that I've found to be helpful in this way.
  • My name is Barry Briggs. I've practiced for two decades in the Kwan Um School of Zen and serve that organization as a Bodhisattva Teacher.
